The songwriting process is a source of inspiration for hopeful producers. Niykee is always listening to beats and finds many songs that inspire her. "I'll be able to tell within the first 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. Once I have an idea in my head and I begin to write right away." When I am playing my guitar outside on my porch, words start to flow. A majority times, it's done in thirty minutes. Niykee states that, as she grows as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her childhood are an inspiratoin. She says that even when she's not writing about things that were actually taking place, all of her pain through her childhood and grief over the loss of her daughter finds it's way into her music. It influences my lyrics and creates a more profound meaning. For me, this is the key to succeeding.
